Cookie notice

One cookie remembers your choice. Nothing else is stored unless you say yes.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. On your next visit the browser hands it back, so the site can recognise the same device. Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels do the same job and are covered by the same rules here.

In the UK, storing anything on your device or reading anything off it is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, known as PECR. PECR says we need your consent first, unless the cookie is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.

Only one cookie on this site clears that strictly necessary bar, and it exists purely to remember what you decided about the others.

Nothing non-essential loads until you accept

When you first arrive, no analytics tag, advertising tag or third party script has run. They are not loaded and then held back, they are simply not on the page.

If you accept, the tags load and set the cookies listed below. If you reject, they never load, and the only thing stored on your device is the record of that rejection so we do not ask again on the next page.

Rejecting costs you nothing. Every part of this site works the same either way.

Strictly necessary

Essential

One first party cookie that records what you chose here. Without it the banner would reappear on every page. It cannot be turned off, and it contains nothing but your consent decision and the date you made it.

tg_consent TelecomGrowth (first party) Stores whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, and when, so we do not ask again and can show we honoured it. 12 months

Analytics

Not essential

Google Analytics 4, which tells us how many people read a page, which pages they leave from and which ones lead to an enquiry. We use it to fix the site, not to identify you. Off unless you accept.

_ga Google Distinguishes one browser from another so Google Analytics can count new and returning visitors. 24 months
_ga_* Google Holds the session state for our specific Google Analytics 4 property. The part after the underscore is our property identifier. 24 months

Marketing

Not essential

The Google Ads conversion tag, which connects an enquiry back to the advert that produced it so we know what our advertising is actually doing. Off unless you accept.

_gcl_au Google Stores a click identifier so Google Ads can attribute a conversion to the advert you clicked. 90 days
_gcl_aw Google Set when you arrive from a Google advert, so the resulting enquiry can be matched to that click. 90 days

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page. It reopens the same panel you saw on arrival, shows what is currently on, and lets you switch it off. The change takes effect immediately.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, which is the standard PECR sets. There is no form and no waiting.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, which every major browser supports. That will also clear the record of your choice on this site, so the banner will ask you again.
